In 2025, Blue Shield of California Foundation approached us to help shift how journalists report on domestic violence. Too often, the coverage is reactive, episodic, and stripped of context. They wanted to equip reporters with tools to tell fuller, more systemic stories.
We created the Let’s End DV Journalist Playbook—a digital resource and campaign platform to encourage sensitive, solutions-focused reporting. The Playbook uplifts survivor voices and reframes domestic violence as a public health and equity issue, not just a personal tragedy.
We led the design of the platform (journalists.letsenddv.org), visual identity system, launch campaign, and editorial tools. The suite included website design, illustrations, event collateral, and a set of modular templates for media, social, and event-based storytelling. The design struck a balance between clarity and compassion.
/Collaborators
This was a tight collaboration with Blue Shield’s narrative strategy team, a journalist advisory board, and survivors turned advocates. I served as the lead designer, shaping the visual identity, campaign assets, and interactive experience from start to finish.
